Syracuse, N.Y. — April 2, 2026 — Nysernet is proud to announce the appointment of Maria Suppa, CPA, CFF, CIA, as chief financial officer (CFO), a key addition to the organization’s senior leadership team. As CFO, Suppa will guide Nysernet’s financial strategy and operations, strengthening the organization’s long-term capacity to deliver innovative, high-value services to its members.
Suppa joined Nysernet in 2025 as director of finance, bringing nearly two decades of experience in financial management, risk mitigation and strategic planning. Her credentials as a CPA, along with certifications in Financial Forensics and Internal Auditing, further strengthen the financial and operational oversight of the organization.
“Maria has already demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of how financial strategy supports mission-driven work,” said Jeanne Casares, president and CEO of Nysernet. “Her expertise will help us scale responsibly, invest wisely, and continue delivering solutions that anticipate the evolving needs of our members.”
Suppa will play a central role in shaping Nysernet’s financial future, ensuring the organization remains strong, resilient and positioned to provide an impact to its member community.

Suppa holds an MBA from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Utica University. Her career includes experience in public accounting and financial leadership roles across the manufacturing, consulting and disaster management sectors.
