Syracuse physicists study matter and antimatter decay - NYSERNet

Research by physicists at Syracuse University has confirmed that matter and antimatter decay differently for elementary particles containing charmed quarks. This marks the first time that matter and antimatter asymmetry has been confirmed, although many attempts have been made in the past to measure their differences. This study of how matter and antimatter behave differently proves they are not interchangeable, even tough they appear to look the same from the outside.
