NYU researchers build dresser to help people with dementia - NYSERNet

A team of researchers including scientists from NYU have built a prototype that will improve life for people with dementia. The team has created a dresser that can guide an individual through the process of getting dressed. Using sensors and recordings of instructions, the prototype is able to recognize and verbally correct errors in dressing. More research has to be done before the prototype can become commonplace in homes of people with dementia, but the final product will allow people with dementia to have more independence.

The NYU scientists were able to exchange data with their collaborators using the NYSERNet R&E network.
