NSF Funds $74.5 million in Awards for Cybersecurity Research - NYSERNet

On October 31, the National Science Foundation announced $74.5 million in research funding to address issues of cybersecurity. The Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program is crucial to providing secure and trustworthy cyberspace, especially for infrastructure such as the energy grid and transportation system. NSF is issuing 214 awards to researchers in order to undertake issues regarding access control and identity, cryptography and intrusion detection, human interaction and usability, as well as other areas. The awards are a part of $160 million invested in cybersecurity research and education in the 2017 fiscal year.
