In a new study headed by Damon McCoy, an assistant professor of computer science and engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, researchers have gathered intelligence regarding the illegal ransomware payment ecosystem. The team also includes researchers from the University of California, San Diego; Princeton University; Google; as well as the blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis. NYU is one of NYSERNet’s member institutions using the R&E Network.
