GENI in the Classroom training

GENI (Global Environment for Network Innovations) is a nationwide suite of infrastructure supporting “at scale” research in networking, distributed systems, security and novel applications. It’ supported by the National Science Foundation, and available without charge for research and classroom use.

“GENI in the Classroom” is a two-session interactive online seminar offered by the University of North Carolina for instructors and teaching assistants considering using GENI as a part of their courses.

This training, formerly called “Train the TA”, will involve two interactive webcast sessions​:

Session 1
3 p.m. (EST) Feb. 3
(Optional if you have used GENI before or taken introductory GENI tutorials):

An Introduction to GENI and a demo of a simple experiment. A hands-on exercise will have you run a simple experiment with GENI.

Session 2
3 p.m. (EST) Feb. 10

Tips for using GENI in the classroom and for course work, and an overview of available resources. The hands-on lab will feature a more advanced GENI experiment.
