A recent study on the health effects of e-cigarettes has been released by the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health in collaboration with Harvard. Previous research on the topic was made difficult by the customizability of e-cigs, but by focusing on the effects of these differences, researchers were able to alter their methods and create a more reliable profile of toxins. Their findings show distinctions in emissions due to variables such as brand, flavor additives, and voltage, but ultimately found that there are a significant amount of carcinogens formed from vaping. The scientists believe their findings will improve methods for studying the effects of e-cigarettes in future studies.

CUNY is connected to the NYSERNet R&E network.
