10 New York State teachers awarded distance learning scholarships from Internet2’s Community Anchor Program (CAP)

NYSERNet would like to congratulate 10 New York State teachers who were awarded the Distance Learning Scholarship from Internet2’s Community Anchor Program (CAP). These scholarship winners receive free, one-on-one, distance learning programs for their classes through the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC).

The ten distance scholarship winners are:

  • Logan Betts, Chautauqua Lake Elementary School, 6th Grade
  • Lorrayne Bolger, Roxbury Central School, 5th Grade
  • Karen Bramley, Roxbury Central School, 3rd Grade
  • Rebecca Griffing, Roxbury Central School, 1st Grade
  • Elizabeth McLaughlin, Roxbury Central School, 2nd Grade
  • Catherine Novaes, Stamford Central School, 9th Grade
  • Morgan Park, Milford Central School, Kindergarten, 3rd Grade
  • Megan Tumilowicz, Unadilla Valley Central School, 7th Grade
  • Stacey Vasta, Roxbury Central School, 6th Grade
  • Katie Wolford, Unadilla Valley Middle School, 8th Grade

Roxbury Central School, Stamford Central School, Milford Central School and Unadilla Valley Central School leverage the NYSERNet Research and Education Network through the South Central Regional Information Center in Binghamton, New York. Chautauqua Lake Elementary is connected through the Western New York Regional Information Center in Buffalo, New York.

Overall, 31 teachers won CILC scholarships, which will benefit over 1,200 students across the United States. Winning teachers came from schools that connected to four R&E networks: NYSERNet, Connecticut Education Network, Illinois Century Network and MCNC.
