A team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has developed a new technique with the potential to dramatically improve the quality and speed of imaging in live subjects. The technique generates comprehensive molecular images of organs and tumors in living organisms at quick speeds using a complex set of algorithms designed to recognize and sort data. This new methodology has the potential to produce real-time images of increased quality and usefulness. The researchers believe this could facilitate the development of personalized drugs, improve clinical diagnostics, and help identify tissue to be removed from the body.
